Cabinet Minister:
A cabinet minister is a member of the executive branch of the government. The cabinet consists of many senior ministers. These honorable Ministers hold important portfolios such as home affairs, defence , education etc., The cabinet consists of most experienced Ministers. On important matters Prime Minister seeks their advice. The decisions taken by the cabinet are binding to all Ministers. The cabinet meets frequently to formulate the policies and decide on certain matters on national importance. The size of the cabinet is 15-20 Ministers.

How many types of ministers are there in Cabinet
There are five categories of Council of Ministers.
- Prime Minister: Prime Minister is the leader of executive of the Government of India.
- Deputy Prime Minister: He is the senior most Cabinet Minister. Presides as Prime Minister in his absence.
- Cabinet Minister: He leads a Ministry. A member of the Cabinet.
- Minister of State (Independent charge): He is a Junior Minister. He will not report to a Cabinet Minister.
- Minister of State (MoS): Deputy Minister reporting to a Cabinet Minister with responsibility in that Ministry.
